On Sunday January 3rd 2010, at around 11am, a gas explosion in the centre of Shrewsbury ripped apart buildings and injured a number of individuals.

One of our IT customers were based in offices directly in front of the explosion, while the building suffered structural and cosmetic damage fortunately the IT infrastructure escaped with only minor hardware issues.

The following day, after an initial safety assessment, we were allowed in for one hour to remove servers and other crucial hardware. We were able to set this up in another location, reconfigure their email systems and setup remote access for staff within 4 hours.

Laptops were distributed to allow for teleworking and VPN's configured to allow access to staff spread accross a number of locations.

A flexible IT system with disaster planning meant that we could minimise the IT disruptions to their business.
